How To Make Brushing Teeth Fun For Children – Most kids are just too fidgety to sit still through the mere two-minute of teeth brushing. For parents, such kids are extremely hard to deal with. But given no other option is sight, this act got to be done anyhow.

The best way forward should be to make the entire exercise so interesting and fun that your kids become participative rather than evasive. Therefore, parents should come with some innovations ideas to make their kids glued to the brushing.

So, rather than feeling challenged, parents should take this as an opportunity to try some tricks to get the child going with the brushing thing. But yes, make sure the tricks are all fun, else your kids might feel put off leaving you with the same old problems to deal with.

How to make brushing teeth fun for the kids

Here are some tips to make the teeth brushing fun for your kids –

Sing a song

Try creating a song about or around brushing the teeth. Even better, the song should be around a popular and familiar tune.


Try singing it aloud and preferably, more than a few times a day, and let the kid sit through the two-minute mark. This will work for sure.

Read a story

How about making the child brush the teeth through a short yet interesting session of story reading? The story should involve some pictures as this will work as a great diversionary tactic. So, start reading the story and let the kid easily breeze through the two-minute goal.

Role reversal

Let the child brush your teeth and you, his/her. You can follow this routine for a few days, or at least twice a week. This will keep the child engaged with the act and chances are, s/he won’t mind coming to the standard mode sooner rather than later.

Spur the kid on with your shiny teeth

Nothing makes the kid going more than a sense of competition. Thus, you should try egging them on, or spurring them on, by flaunting you shiny and clean teeth.

This will surely get the message across and chances are, your child will try showing off theirs to impress your for sure.

Let your kid imagine the fun

While brushing the teeth of your child, you can go creative and give him a chance to imagine things. Let for say, you can make them believe that you’re using the toothbrush like a sword to skill some animal inside. It’s all about making the imagination run wild, and the act will be done breezily for sure.

Set a timer

Chances are, your kid don’t understand what the role of a timer is. So, you can leverage their ignorance and get the timer into the play. Just set a two-minute mark and ask the kid to brush in the specified time. You can see the kid competing with every tickle of the timer, and you’d surely smile with joy.

In a nutshell, parents can go creative and make the act of brushing teeth fun for their kids. The more the creativity shows, the better will be the result for sure.
