The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) states that “it is pretty normal for people to lose 50 to 100 hairs every day”. While it’s true that men have a greater likelihood of losing hair than women, but thinning of hair and hair fall are also becoming more common among woman. The reasons that lead to hair loss can range from a (permanent or temporary) vitamin deficiency, hereditary or any health condition.

Getting enough nutrition by maintaining a healthy diet with essential nutrients like Vitamin A, Vitamin D, iron, zinc and others helps boost hair growth.

4. Genetic Factor

Genes inherited from parents can lead to hair loss. Often referred to as ‘Hereditary-Pattern Baldness’, the genetic factor is not any disease, but just a condition that causes hair loss or thinning of hair as you age.

What’s the solution?

To know if you are losing hair in a hereditary pattern, you’ll need to consult a doctor first. And, in case a hereditary pattern is diagnosed, your doctor will likely advise you to use minoxidil (Rogaine) or finasteride (Propecia) to slow down further shedding of hair.
